new to waxing?

welcome.

what should i do before waxing?

You're ready and the appointment is booked! Review the list below to be prepared!

  1. Don't shave for a couple of weeks. Your hair needs to be a certain length for waxing to work well 1/8 to a 1/4 inch long, at least as tall as a grain of rice. There's no such thing as coming in with it too long -- it'll merely get a little trim before the wax is applied.
  2. Come in clean and exfoliated for your appointment. It's both courteous and effective. Sweat and ingrown hairs are enemies of a great wax.
  3. Stay hydrated. It’s good for the skin and will help open up the pores. Don't spend the night before drinking and see if you can push coffee until afterward, as coffee and alcohol dehydrate, which can increase the pain.
  4. Make sure you empty your bladder before the wax session begins.
  5. Take Advil or any OTC pain medication thirty minutes before your session to take the edge off the pain. During the waxing. try to relax and pace your breathing, but don't hold your breath. Chatting with us will help distract the pain waxing may cause
  6. Wear soft, preferably cotton, underwear and loose-fitting bottoms for the appointment.

will it be painful?

Every person's pain tolerance level varies, based on how many waxes they have had. Combined with our superior product line and our specialized training in Brazilian Waxing techniques, we try to minimize the pain as much as possible.

what should i do after waxing

Being gentle is the biggest factor to consider. Avoid wearing tight or textured (i.e. lacy) underwear for the first few days and instead opt for comfortable, cotton undergarments that allow your skin to breathe. You'll also want to give the area some gentle exfoliation and moisture.

  1. DO NOT APPLY ANYTHING!
  2. Wait for 24-28 hours to perform activities that can cause you to sweat in the area that you had waxed.
  3. Avoid tanning in the sun or in a salon for 24-28 hours.
  4. Shower as usual, and after 48 hours you begin your exfoliation routine.
  5. After we have waxed you, we'll discuss specific after-wax products. While they aren't strictly necessary, they will help you stay moisturized, soothed, and smooth.

what should i not do after a waxing

  1. Don’t get overly hot or sweaty -- no sun tanning right after a wax, no vigorous exercise, no steaming. This includes sex! Think of the friction, too! You'll have to wait to show off your new look.
  2. Don’t soak in water, and avoid swimming or baths.
  3. Don’t use regular lotion or artificially fragranced products on the waxed area; this will increase irritation.
  4. Don’t pick up the razor! Hair regrowth can be unpredictable. You might feel some stubble or see a bit of a shadow, but shaving will reset the cycle, and you'll be back to square one regardless.

how long does the waxing last?

Generally speaking, most waxing services last three to four weeks. DON'T SHAVE IN BETWEEN SESSIONS! Hair growth is unpredictable, and shaving can reset the whole process for your next waxing.
